According to available data, since the beginning of this year, the gold reserves of Venezuela have decreased by 30 tons. This happened before the tightening of sanctions by the United States. Now only 100 tons of yellow precious metal worth more than $ 4 billion are left in the reserves of the Central Bank of Venezuela.

The event for the removal of gold from the repository occurred last week, when only high-ranking employees of the Central Bank were in the office, and most of the workers stayed at home due to a power outage and a shortage of drinking water.

A representative of the Venezuelan opposition said that the precious metals transportation campaign was carried out during an emergency situation in the Central Bank building. Most likely, gold has already been sold abroad, but it is not known exactly which country.
